The European Union 'Cookie Law'

You're probably aware of the new European Union 'Cookie Law' that came into force in the United Kingdom on 26th May 2012.

We've been working with Baycloud Systems Ltd to implement a customised version of their CookieQ cookie and permission control solution. However, we're concerned that a small number of visitors with specific browser versions may experience difficulties.

We'd therefore be grateful if you would help us by carrying out a small experiment, and let us have the results by filling in the short survey form that you'll find below.

If this is the first time that you've visited this page, you should see a banner at the top of your screen. You'll certainly see a couple of 'Cookies Allowed?' buttons, one at the top of the right column, and one below this message.

Please click on either the word 'here' in the banner or one of those buttons to open the Opt-In Panel.

Here's where it's important to follow the exact test procedure.

We're not interested in whether this works at the second or later attempt, only in whether it works first time.

Please click on any one of the following buttons:

  • The Opt-in button
  • The Opt-out button
  • The Forget button
  • The [X] button

The panel should close, and you should remain on this page. If anything else happens, and in particular if those buttons don't work at all, please let us know by answering No to the question Did the buttons work for you? If all went well, please answer Yes.

If you can't close the panel, simply click again on the 'Cookies Allowed?' button that should be still visible. If you don't see it, please scroll up a little.

Thank you in advance for your help. Here's the survey form:

Please note that all fields followed by an asterisk must be filled in.
